History

We are from Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. We're originally know as WYSIWYG, but that was too confusing!  So we tried to come up with a name that fit us.  So, just call us 'Mutts and keep your eyes out for the black paw print jerseys.

CHRIS: That's me.  I put this group together.  I'm also the caretaker of this web page.  I live in Hiawatha, Iowa and work at Kirkwood Comm College teaching Dental Assisting courses.  I'm also a fitness instructor at Rockwell's Rec Center.  Our girls are Heidi and Cheyanne.  They are both beautiful German Shepherds.

KAREN: That's my big sister.  She's been riding all her life.  It doesn't matter how fast you go, but how much fun you have getting there!  Karen works as a Paraeducator for Special Needs kids.  Not to mention she has two teenage boys...  Rock is her baby boy!  He's a sweet boxer who wiggles instead of wagging his tail.

DAVID:  My brother is single and looking!  Ok, so I had to put that in there.  David works at Mcleod USA. He doesn't have a dog right now but he plans on changing that when he moves to his new home in Marion.  David doesn't ride, but he sure knows how to take care of us.  He's our support.

TYLER:  Tyler is Karen's oldest son.  He's big into foreign cars and decking them out!  He hasn't ridden a whole RAGBRAI yet but he plans on changing that next year.  (By the way, Tyler will be 21 during the ride next year...)

MIKE:  He's Karen's youngest son.  Mike rode his first day the past year and is really interested in doing more.  Mike is considering trading in the Mtn bike for a roadie.  He's into sports like track and wrestling.

Beth:  That's my Sister-in-law.  This will be her first full RAGBRAI!  Boy is she in for some fun!  Beth just got a new road bike and she's ready to roll!

We can't forget our past members. Who could forget Lori's evil grin and "Do be do be dooo...".The two sisters, Gale and Bonnie. Scott went on to other ventures.  Dawn, Jason and Erica created Crazy 8's.  Last of all, Mom.  Mom was our support #2 until Rockwell City in '98. Silly woman got heat sick. So, with a heavy heart, she was sent home. Nonetheless, she will not be with us. We'll take her is spirit, though. Love ya, Ma!
